THE WEEKEND WARRIORS
Warrior #1: Brendan Steele
(FantasyDraft – $19300, DraftKings – $9900)
Steele heads to San Antonio in the midst of what has been an incredibly solid season. He’s 12/12 when it comes to making the cut with six top 25s and three top 10s. He’ll look to continue that form on a course where he’s found moderate success before. Last year Steele held the lead after the first round but slowly faded over the course of the week, eventually finishing 13th. Over the last five years Brendan has three finishes inside the top 13. His performance in this week’s key stats show why he should be able to contend here again this year.
- Strokes Gained: Off-the-Tee – 44th, .414
- Bogey Avoidance – 4th, 11.62%
- Scrambling – 1st, 69.57%
- Strokes Gained: Approach – 20th, .658
Great form, solid course history, and incredible stats, Steele checks all the boxes for a top end play. The price tag is nice as well as he’s only the seventh most expensive golfer on the board for both sites. It appears Brendan has picked up a lot of steam as a good play this week so don’t be surprised if he ends up on the chalky side.
