The Players Championship: One and Done Plays

Top Plays

Rory McIlroy – Trending nicely, wouldn’t argue with you if you wanted to wait on burning him or not. He’s a good play whenever he tees it up

Sergio Garcia – Now’s a time to burn him if you haven’t already, especially if you’re leading your league

Henrik Stenson – Course Horse, game sets up nicely for this course. If you don’t use him here, hold him for the playoffs

Jordan Spieth – Contrarian play, obvious option for any of the Majors coming up

Kevin Kisner – I’d like to have better form from him coming in, but he’s played well on Pete Dye courses in the past and will be very contrarian if you’re looking to make up ground

Rickie Fowler – Some formats don’t allow for players to pick the defending champion, if your league allows it, it might be a good time to burn him

Kevin Na – I have him pegged for either the Dean & Deluca event (formerly The Crowne Plaza) or The Memorial. He has a solid tournament history here

Zach Johnson – I will be using him at The John Deere Classic (because I always do), but he’s played well here in the past and has good form coming in

Matt Kuchar – Pete Dye specialist, if you haven’t used him now you probably only have a few more good opportunities to do so Memorial, RBC Candian Open, Deutsche Bank Championship

Very contrarian plays (for those looking to make up ground)

Russell Knox – Has been playing lights out and has finished Top 10 whenever he makes the cut

Branden Grace – Playing very well on Pete Dye courses this year (and in general)

Rafa Cabrera-Bello – Current form is impeccable

Russell Henley – Good tournament history, playing much better now than earlier in the year

Emiliano Grillo – dark horse pick, Top 10 in Total Driving (which is important here)
