NFL Week Five Picks
Bye weeks are finally here. Some good offenses in Atlanta, Washington, New Orleans and Denver are off this week. Add in some quarterback injuries like Marcus Mariota and the picking seems a little slim. I have some guys I really like this week and foresee some lesser owned players having big games. Don’t be afraid to take some risks this week!
The NFL Week Five Picks:
Alex Smith ($7400 on FD, $5900 on DK) – Smith and Kansas City are rolling right now. He has two monster games and two games that were fine for cash games. With his price still on the lower end and some top QBs on bye this week, Smith is a solid cash QB if you are looking to save some money.
Dak Prescott ($7700 on FD, $6800 on DK) – Dak has played Green Bay twice and each time come away with three touchdowns. Green Bay allows 29 points per game when on the road. With the highest Vegas implied game total of 52.5, you can’t go wrong with the home favorite QB.
Todd Gurley ($7800 on FD, $8000 on DK) – Gurley has been a workhorse so far this year. He is averaging 26.5 touches for 149 scrimmage yards and 1.75 TDs per game. Yes, those numbers should regress, but I don’t expect them too against a Seahawks team allowing 5.12 yards per carry which is fourth-worst this year.
Joe Mixon ($5900 on FD, $5500 on DK) – In the two games under the new offensive coordinator Mixon is averaging 21 touches. He hasn’t reached the end zone and the yards aren’t there for him yet. This could be a breakout spot for a talented back getting 20+ touches and very cheap on the sites.
