Happy hump day NBA DFS fans! This NBA Datalytics article is designed to give you some interesting stats and analysis regarding the upcoming slate. Tonight is the first chance you get at the DraftKings Live Final in Miami so good luck! If I don’t win, I hope you do. Make sure you check out Brent’s The Morning Shootaround and Chris’ The 6th Man. Let’s dive in.
Unicorn vs The Process
Wow, what a fun matchup this one is going to be between Kristaps Porzingis and Joel Embiid! The Knicks seem to be in shambles right now. Their starting PG Derrick Rose had an unexcused absence last game, but he is playing and will start tonight. Last game was brutal for the Knicks. The Rose weird news, Carmelo Anthony only playing one half due to injury and Porzingis only playing 24 minutes while shooting 3-13 from the field in a 110-96 beat down. They should be well rested and in a good spot tonight against the 76ers. It is concerning the Knicks are 6-13 on the road and have lost eight of their last nine games. I’m surprisingly more interested on the 76ers side of the ball. The “funky” situation as Jahlil Okafor calls it continues with the 76ers frontcourt as Okafor went from playing 20-30 minutes to not playing in three of the last four games. They have to figure that out, but in the meantime you can trust Embiid’s minutes being stable. He’ll continue to be on his 30 minutes limit, and against New York who is 27th in DvP vs C’s this season, sign me up. Since Okafor isn’t playing now, Nerlens Noel has seen his minutes increase as he’s played 24 and 25 minutes the last two games. He’s only $4,200 on DK and $4,600 on FD.
