CorsiHL’s Daily SMASHBOARD – February 9th, 2018

A rare eight game slate on a Friday today, how about that? At first glance, we should have several good options to choose from, and nothing that will be overwhelmingly chalky. Our prior fifteen day samples now only include post-ASB data, so let’s dig right in:

DET1: Mantha-Zetterberg-Nyquist, $14.7K, and DET2: Athanasiou-Larkin-Tatar, $14.9K:  The Sabres FINALLY came through in a chalky spot last night against the Islanders, and our two-step process for succeeding in GPPs has continued to work for us…Step 1) Stack against the Islanders, and Step 2) Profit. The Red Wings aren’t exactly the best team to use in an offensive spot, but we can’t ignore that they’ve got the best matchup on the board by a mile. I’m really struggling to differentiate between these two lines…the Wings have re-jiggered their PP units so that both lines have full PP correlation, and they’ve been running their PP units as 1A and 1B all season…there’s no clear-cut top unit that will likely see more ice time than the other. I’d reckon that the Larkin line will see more ownership, because it’s the “sexier” play…but their prices are almost identical today and they should both split time against the top two units for the Islanders. On a point-per-dollar basis, both of these lines have to be right up there tonight…maybe check in with me later in group chat to see if I’ve made up my mind. D-man correlation play: Mike Green, $4,600 (DET2, PP) [Friends don’t let friends use Niklas Kronwall]
