CorsiHL’s Daily SMASHBOARD – February 5th, 2018

Four games on the slate tonight, and it feels like there are plenty of different ways you can go with this one. The obvious chalky spots tonight should be the Stars’ top line and Nashville’s top two lines. That said, with all the great options available, I think we can worry about ownership slightly less than we typically would on a four-game slate:

NSH1: Sissons-Johansen-Arvidsson, $15.2K, and NSH2: Fiala-Turris-Smith, $16.6K:  Without fail, it feels like the you can always get there in GPPs by stacking against the Islanders. The Islanders are allowing nearly 38 5v5 adjusted scoring chances against per 60 and 16 5v5 adjusted high danger chances against per 60 over the past fifteen days. These numbers are far and away worst on the slate, and even worst in the league. The Predators will be without their top scorer Filip Forsberg today, but Colton Sissons sliding up on the top line actually reduces their cost substantially, and Sissons has been an effective player at all strengths this season. Based on the past few games, it’s anyone’s guess how the PP units will look for Nashville tonight, which is why I’ve listed both lines together here. The Fiala-Turris-Smith line hasn’t been quite as effective since being reunited, but this matchup is just too good for them. I think we’ll see higher ownership on NSH2 here, so all things considered, I’d probably rank NSH1 ahead…but only very slightly. D-man correlation play: Roman Josi, $6,200
