SP. Patrick Corbin: Corbin has racked up 20 k’s through 13 innings in his first two starts of 2018. He has done so by relying on his slider around 50% of the time. Despite throwing it so frequently, Corbin is able to vary the velocity on his slider to keep hitters off balance. Pitching in a good pitcher’s park with a friendly pitcher’s ump behind the plate tonight Corbin makes for a solid play.
SS. Elvis Andrus: Priced at just $3600 tonight in a home matchup vs Tyler Skaggs puts Andrus firmly in play tonight. Skaggs allows lots of hard contact to right-handed hitters and also gives up stolen bases with 11 alowed in under 100 innings in the last two seasons. Andrus has also reached base in 11 of 20 plate appearances vs Skaggs in his career.
OF. Justin Upton: There are 20 outfielders priced higher than Justin Upton tonight but not many get a better matchup. Going against left-hander Martin Perez in Texas with a hitter’s umpire behind the plate Upton is a good bet to add to his six extra base hits in 11 games this year.
OF. Hunter Renfroe: Renfroe is a completely different hitter vs left-handed pitching with a .368 career ISO compared to just .197 vs right-handers. Getting Renfroe in Coors Field vs a lefty for just $3600 on DK is way too cheap.
